Kind of sad that all these kids practice and sweat and give all they have all year only to lose the game on 1 phantom call for Indiana on a steal and another missed call near the end. Duke is the best team in college basketball, and even though Indiana played tough tonight, Duke got ripped off by the refs. I hate games that end like that.

You guys may not think they are the best team, and you may think that they sucked tonight, but if you watched the game you can't honestly deny that they got ripped off by two shitty calls at the end and deserved to win that game or at least have it go to OT.

Even in the first half of this game, Duke got the calls. I thought the Refs did a good job of balancing the game by giving the Hoosiers a couple of calls in the second half. It would have been unfair if they didn't.

I didn't watch the first half, so I can't argue too much with you there. All I watched was the last 10 minutes of the second half, and the two biggest calls of the season went against Duke when they should have been easy calls the other way. Just hard to swallow when these kids have worked their tails off only to get burned by two bad calls at the end of a game they otherwise would have won. Congrats to Indiana though, they played hard, and I have to root for them now that they got rid of Bobby Knight, but they should be in the losers lockerroom or playing OT right now and not be celebrating. /infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif
First off they were bailed out by a TOTALLY stupid play by a senior when Fife fouled JWilliams and he MISSED tthe free throw. There was no foul on Boozer's rebound. In fact Newton backed all the way out of the play. They had their opportunity as IU tried to give the game back and THEY not the officials blew it plain and simple. Indiana played to win in the second half while Duke expected them to quit like everyone else when they were on cruise control and they never quit and TOOK the game away on their own.

come on! you're telling me the number 1 team in the country, a 13 point favorite, lost the game because of a refs call? they were up by 13 at halftime. they should have blown indiana out and they couldn't. the refs let them play the whole game.

One other point. I get sick and tired of everyone acting like DUKE is the ONLY team that works their ASSES off all season. What you are saying is that it is OK for DUKE to get all of the calls as they usually do and OTHER teams that have busted their asses with LESS talent should be beaten by BOTH better talent AND the officials? Give me a break.

I never said Duke was the only team to bust their asses to win, and any team that works hard and gets ripped off by refs at the end of the game that ends their seasons has my deepest sympathies. I just can't stand it when the refs decide who wins and not the players.
Williams does suck at the free throw line. I still don't understand how such a great shooter from the field can miss as many free throws as he does. If I were him I'd take a jump shot from the free throw line each time. He makes those.
